People would more likely be placed in a suspension of belief scenario if she was violently mowing through folks. I feel theres also a double standard on a mother being a bit callous or jaded. Joel could get away with the tough and gruff old man schtick. I would think perception to (video game) Tess would give a good indication. Obviously she believed in the mission a bit quicker, but she fit the topics premise the closest. LightningAce11 posted... Is there actually a game with that dynamic? Adult woman protecting a boy?
