for any cis folks who want to be an ally this is incredibly important to understand because holy hell this is what FAR too many cis "allies" do every single time they step over us - they just go DARVO and scream "trans bullies" to escape criticism because it's an easy trope cis folks love to eat up in defence of their parasocial idols no matter the reality

Which in this case was Kasparian initially throwing a completely out of the blue jab at inclusive language regarding "birthing people", critics rightfully pointing out how this rhetoric is harmful - trans men exist with low rates of health checks due to fear of transphobia, and these terms are only ever actually used in medical contexts to accurately refer to all people affected and exclude those who are not. Kasparian fails to show any truth to the idea that it's replaced the word "woman" altogether, and just recently in the UK a BBC "journalist" hate-mobbed a clinic for daring to make a tweet addressing trans men, which ended up with the organization deleting the tweet due to the pile-on of transphobes.

Fellow left-wing content creators have been calling this out with the absolute patience saints, providing the benefit of the doubt, talking up disclaimers that TYT isn't transphobic they just got this wrong, and articulating what they got wrong - from Serfs, ex-TYT commentators like Emme Vigeland with The Majority Report, and sure okay Vaush doing his typical abrasive loudmouth thing.

Ana & Cenk response is the typical whining freak-out that they've been cancelled by radical leftists with their unpopular (but factually accurate which A&C refuses to address) criticism! Because we all know how historically popular ad populum has always been with TYT, yeah? Cenk is then calling everyone a backstabber for criticism and Ana saying that she will never collab with another leftist again. All this despite evidence clipped of Ana herself making the exact same argument months ago that she's now going scorched earth against, in the tweet below.

So she's blatantly lying and there's no good faith given to addressing this clip that's been shared by plenty of people at them. Because they're nothing but hacks that will play dishonest defence to deflect rightful criticism they cannot take, straight in the face of trans people getting legislated out of existence, who A&C are casting as nefarious villains using nebulous terminology of "TRAs" and "far-left extremists" - once again, knowing that they are blatantly lying as they very much DO understand the criticism and have previously argued it themselves but are now simply pretending never happened.

And then you check out Ana's Liked tweets and she's liking blatant bigots calling for the "[growing] revolt against TransThink" and it's patently obvious the defence they're reveling in is entirely coming from the grosses people from Shapiro, GGers, Walsh and all the usual suspects as Cenk puffs his chest that they're quote, "on the right side" and saying NOTHING about them.

Trans people really do have to face the absolute worst pressure and harassment endlessly meanwhile like I said, far too many self-labelled progressive cis folk will weaponize their fellow cis fanbase by playing victim when we so much as point out you're stepping on us. Because they absolutely cannot accept when their biases are pushing reactionary transphobia. Just like with racism, to consider somebody transphobic is treated as a far worse offense than actually being transphobic.

So again, if you want to be a cis ally it is absolutely REQUIRED that you can recognize this shit when previously "progressive" voices you looked up to get criticized and fall back on weaponizing "trans bullies" tropes to flee criticism while simultaneously demonizing trans people to their base for having the audacity to speak up on what harms us. The side advocating for us here has been treating Ana & Cenk with absolute kid gloves over this and yet they still have the gall to go scorched earth, call everybody else a lunatic and claim that they're being unfairly treated victims.
