I'm not sure I understand the 'misguided' thing. People are upset at him that he's doing good things because he gets a lot of views from it? That's been my impression the past couple months anyways.

"Oh no, someone with 145,000,000 YT followers is popularizing doing good things! He's just doing good things for views, and we only want good things to happen when nobody is watching!"

It's a baffling take to me. Good things are good things. Yeah it would be better if healthcare was fixed and a bunch of people didn't to realize on a generous celebrity for their lift changing surgery or whatever, but it would cost more money than even he has to fix the system versus simply doing some good in it. But by all means I'm not an expert on why he's been getting flack for his deeds, so it's entirely possible I'm unaware of some element to it all.

For the most part he's good. Great, even. There have been a few cases where he didn't think things out quite as well as he probably could have. The most recent example, which isn't even really his fault, is that he was going to show up at a grocery store to pay for some people's groceries, and an employee leaked it, so a TON of people showed up. For safety reasons, he had to cancel, which lead to people just leaving full carts of food everywhere that the employees then had to clean up. To his credit, I believe he paid the store for the trouble or something, but it kinda showed that he didn't really have any contingency plan for such a thing. Again, not really his fault at all, but it ended up becoming a mess.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, though, ultimately. I think what he does is great. I definitely don't agree with the whole "How dare he publicize it/get views!" crap.

EDIT: I really shouldn't have used the word "misguided," probably. I wasn't really sure how the board feels about him, so I hedged my bets, I think.
