But I think the "I die if you don't let me hammer" thing is a dumb ploy regardless. It is inherently imbalanced and I'm not surprised to see you take it back. I don't think you even needed to say you were a cop, so I'm a little wary of that. You could have just taken back the dying part and I probably would have been okay backing off.
