Realize 7 being "low" is in comparison to the fact that it is multiple standard deviations lower than the rest of the scores for the title from the other media outlets.

it is unfortunately true that game reviewers making 9 the default score to every major AAA game release have trained people to have a visceral reaction to a game they like getting anything less. this does not make 7 a low score

Secondly, Kotaku put themselves in that situation. They complained about Nintendo blacklisting them, wouldn't let it go embarrassed themselves further on that topic. For Jim to go make a video saying they are within their rights to say whatever they want, that misses the point of the situation. Kotaku wants the same privileges other media outlets have in being able to play and review TotK before release. If they didn't care about this, they would have not complained and would have quietly bought it for launch day like the rest of us. Or if they wanted to make sure the bridge was forever burnt, they could have found a way to play the game to release their review in parity with the other outlets.

I do not think kotaku is actually much invested in tryin go get nintendo to whitelist them if they're covering information from pirated version of the game. just a wild guess tho.

And any rational man who sees X reviewer rate the game much lower than his peers, already make a statement putting the company of said title in a poor light, will easily predict said reviewer is not to change his mind on the sequel.

You don't need to be a fanboy to recognize his blatant bias.

is jim sterling actually frequently giving nintendo games bad reviews, or is this just cope about 7 not being good enough?
