Is their union any good? Or has it been sabotaged to all hell the way most unions eventually are?

I worked for my country's equivalent to UPS so I'm interested to know. Our union was pretty good I believe, but of course the company did its best to do things behind its back.
Teamsters is really ass, but a union for jobs for UPS is better than not having a union.

In comparison, UPS pays their couriers very well especially compared to Fedex. UPS starts out at $23 a hour and tops out at $40, while Fedex starts at $14 a hour and has no definitive cap because most of their drivers are not actually employees due to them mostly outsourced by contractors.
However UPS working conditions are abysmal. Their routes are very strict and if you don't perform you will be let go. You also cannot become a driver right away, you have to work as a package handler for as much as 2 years before you're given keys to drive. If you have any experience with package handling at any warehouse job, you know it's easily the worst job you can have in regards to pay to work ratio.
