There's too many native cultures all around the world who's oral traditions mention star people. Native Australian, Hawaiian, American, South American.
Then there's the ancient Egyptian gods who; come from the stars, one of them is blue, is credited with making/modifying humans, his name in Hiro Glyphics has a double helilix like DNA.
It sounds less like it's made up racist garbage, and more like looking at what is described in ancient traditions, not as all powerful "Gods" but a more technologically advanced alien species. Which, as an atheist, makes a lot more sense.
