Sometimes, but not as often as they used to. I work a social job which has got me more used to that, but it still happens occasionally.

More often by being in a crowd or having lots of people around, or thinking I'm being judged or focused on a lot. So it sounds like a recipe for a bad time.

Oh, and seeing other people doing better than me will often trigger one. So surrounding myself with a bunch of people who will likely be hitting it off would do it.

Hm depending on the venue, you dont really know what others are doing. I mean, you also dont know who is doing better. The women I went on a date with afterwards all had stories of guys that were talking, but it wasnt very good talking.

Mine was at a bar, ofc. So if you are able to go out to eat, and not focus on others, its kinda the same thing. Plus, you could always respectfully bow out if you started feeling uncomfortable.

From what I read, most events also have starter conversations for you to use if you cant think of what to say. I personally didnt use them, but I reckon a more reticent guy sitting with a reticent gal may make use of them.

I know youve mentioned your obstacles before. I think youd maybe fare better in a speed date format. They segregate by age brackets too.

Just a thought.
