Been watching a bunch of videos of Good Samaritans rescuing Sloths from just lying still bang smack in the middle of the road as cars go by.

I get that they are low energy but surely they still realize roads are dangerous? I thought they evolved to live in trees for protection from predators? Why are they cool with being completely and utterly open?

I mean it takes time and energy to climb down a tree, crawl to a road, crawl halfway across the road and then decide "That's it, here's the spot!" with no food or water in sight.
