No, it's not. 1 eight-ounce cup of filter coffee has roughly 100 mg (can be as high as 165 mg) of caffeine. 1 one-ounce shot of espresso has between 60-100 mg of caffeine. So yes, it is. --- The issue is that you get all 100mg of caffeine... all hitting you at once. Whereas with filter coffee, you sip an ounce and get 12mg of caffeine. It wakes you up a little and then you drink another ounce. So you now have 24mg of caffeine in your system. And so on and so forth. So you feel the effects slowly with filter coffee, unlike the "punch to the face" of caffeine found in an espresso. --- "History shows again and again that nature points out the folly of man.
