Slay the Princess? Yeah. The first playthrough is going to be the most impactful. I don't want to say more for the risk of spoilers. But the game quickly plays it's hand and reveals that the story is a little more complicated than just choosing to slay her or not.
Even for Chapter 1 alone your choices are diverse. Take the Knife. Don't. Go back for the Knife. Don't. Try to free her. Try to kill her. Tell her you won't free her until you've had time to talk. Try to lock her back up. Try to fight her if she gets out. These all lead to completely different paths, and those paths often have further evolutions they can sometimes go through.

My first playthrough took 5 hours, and I don't think I've seen even half of the routes possible in the game. It legitimately does play out a little like the Stanley Parable. But what if when you got to one of the endings in TSP it said "Cool. So that was Chapter 1. Now onto Chapter 2".

I can't speak to Andy and Leyley though. I might get it once it's done, but I don't think I'd like Ashley much and based on comments here it seems she's the one who mainly carries the game.
