Raised and educated as if he were English? Is he now Indian and no longer English? Very_Unreliable posted... Furthermore, if a white guy is 6 generations in Japan, I say he is still not japanese, and the japanese WOULD EASILY agree with me... As far as I'm aware there is not a significantly huge population of English immigrants who settled and integrated into Japan a century and a half ago and helped make Japan the country it is today. I think the problem is that VU is saying that they're not ethnically English, not that they can't be nationally English. Which you seem to be conflating the two. Maybe that is where we're getting wires crossed, but I don't really see the ethnic side of it to of a greater importance in this case.
