He was not trained to beat up people for being weird. He didn't "beat up" anyone, he was restraining a possibly fleeing suspect. A suspect of what? He wasn't suspected of anything. He was acting erratically. Like I said, ignore everything else in this situation, if that kid was doing everything else he was doing but had a gun hidden on his person and was intending to shoot up the playground, would people still have this kind of outrage? You have the benefit of hindsight, the cop didn't. --- I am a senior software engineer.
