And if they pay the athletes they should take away the scholarships and make those academic only. Why pay these athletes money and then let them go to school for free, live for free and eat for free when people who are actually going to classes and learning have to pay all sorts of money for everything. Wouldn’t make sense.

Why pay them money AND give perks? Cause no other employer has ever done that before right?

Name an employer that houses, feeds, AND pays their employees.

I wasn't aware that perks could only be limited to what YOU want them to be.

Except right now, at this moment, they get housed, fed, and tuition paid. Those are literally the 'perks' it's being argued they shouldn't get if they get a paycheck.

What 'perks' do you think they should get, if not that?

Money.

And if they really can't figure out a system to pay players, fine but at least take off all the dumb restrictions that players have in regards to receiving money from other sources. What employer do you know that has anywhere near the insane amount of restrictions on how you can make money as the NCAA does?

You do realize that the gifts clauses are to prevent cheating by throwing games, right?

Not to mention THEY ARE BEING PAID WITH FOOD, HOUSING, AND TUITION.

I'm not talking about gifts. I'm talking about being able to make ANY money. They can't even hold a part time job.
