I've worked in the restaurant industry for 9 years now, and I can tell you how it would work: Owners who are assholes treat their employees like garbage but treat customers like angels because they want money. Bad customer service would be a result of employees being treated poorly by both customers and owners, which makes for a miserable work environment. Employees probably have it the worst in this case.
