It's entirely unprofessional for the security guy to try and ask for a girl's number in that situation, but it's also totally ridiculous to imply that a woman has to live life on defense because Brie Larson had some airport security guy ask for her number.

If every dude you smiled at thought they had a shot you would probably be a little more guarded with your smile. I'm sure the amount of creepers Brie Larson encounters is higher than the average person though.

It'd possibly get annoying if I was a girl and every guy I smiled at asked me for my number, yes. I would tell them no and move on, and maybe smile at guys less.

I don't know if I would claim that I have to live life on defense because of it though. If I were an attractive person (like Brie Larson is), I would get asked for my number more than less attractive people. Not a big deal. It's human nature in a way. Attractive people attract people. It's not something that would hurt my quality of life.

It isn't just people asking for girls' numbers. It's also creepy comments, catcalls, other sexual harassment, etc. This is definitely on the less bad end of that spectrum (and I'm not saying that the TSA agent is automatically a terrible person for doing it), but it all contributes to same problem to varying degrees.
