I mean... I have never seen so much complaining over nothing.

This millionaire celebrity is literally complaining because a guy asked her for her number.

Like, holy shit. This is normal human interaction. He was politely letting her know he had interest in her and asked her if he could have her number. Nothing more.

She is complaining she has to live her life on the defensive over it and that the guy was being inappropriate. Wow!

I seriously don't get shit anymore.

I merely smiled at a TSA agent and he asked for my phone number. To live life as a woman is to live life on the defense.

-----------------
How is a guy supposed to win? He thought you were pretty and asked for your number. It's not an assault. Just politely say no and move on.
---------------
Brie LarsonVerified account @brielarson Oct 5

What you are saying is "I was asking for it" - a phrase that has disregarded a females experience for....the whole time.

----------------
You're doing the absolute most! You don't live in a bubble and live in a world with other people. Learn how to interact.

--------------
Brie LarsonVerified account @brielarson Oct 5

Me? Why is this on me?

----------------
Feminism is to empower you to say no or ask him out without worry or being labeled. You've got it twisted sister.

----------------
Brie LarsonVerified account @brielarson Oct 6

I did say no. But I don't want to live in a world where its constantly on me to protect myself. I shouldn't feel unsafe because I'm a woman
-------------------

You feel unsafe because your a paranoid starlet that listens to quacks that have you hating men. There was zero threat in that mans actions
-----------------

Brie LarsonVerified account @brielarson Oct 6

No. I am a powerful strong woman who is working to make the world a better place. I know that if I feel uncomfortable it is valid.

On the defense? Just say no and keep it moving

What's the implication. She smiled at him. He thought she was attractive and asked for her number. That is it. What's the implication? Did he strip search her because she said no? Nope.

LMFAO

Like, tell me you are fucking joking me.

In a middle of an airport surrounding by hundreds of people. A guy simply asks if he could have your phone number.

And...

LMFAO

you

are

thinking you have nowhere to run??? lmfao

Dude, seriously? This is indefensible. It's ludicrous. If she was so scared (due to paranoia), she could have just given a fake number. She just wants to complain to complain because you know being beautiful, rich, and attractive obviously has to deserve sympathy.

Yeah, if you're flirting with someone at a bar and they ask for your number, whatever

If you're very clearly just trying to go about your day and someone stops doing their job to hit on you rather than just letting you by, then yes, that's an issue. Claiming to be in danger in that scenario's probably a step too far, but it's definitely unprofessional and frustrating

Like what if every time you went to buy dinner, the waiter or cashier tried hitting on you before they would ring you up or give you the check? It's shitty.

It's a common mistake young people make in job interviews - they forget to ask if they're allowed to use the job to hit on slampieces and bag poon, and if there's a 401k match. Real shame.

No one has to question if it is sexual harassment because it emphatically is NOT sexual harassment. If you are unsure of that, you need to look up the definition. You just sound ridiculous right now.

Sexual harassment
Sexual harassment is bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors. In most modern legal contexts, sexual harassment is illegal. As defined by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), "It is unlawful to harass a person (an applicant or employee) because of that person's sex."

Not even in the stratosphere. Not even in a million miles of it. You sound foolish, johnbobb. I like ya, buddy, so please don't act foolish. = ///

Hitting on someone at work is totally fine, but it does come with the risk of sexual harassment if you push too far past playful, so you gotta play it safe. Asking for a customer or in this case, someone who you are assuming a sort of power over, is risky, so probably not a great idea at work.

That said, calling TSA "a position of power" is pretty damn dramatic though. Just because someone has some sort of mild power doesn't automatically mean its a "position of power" A TSA agent does not have the same sort of power as a police officer, as much as they pretend they do. They are mall cops of the sky.

I think it's kind of amusing that if she had asked him for his number instead while he was working it wouldn't have been considered a deal at all, but when it's the employee doing the asking it's suddenly creepy, stepping over boundaries, something to be fired for, etc. Like there's this weird standard where we view it as perfectly ok, flattering or whatever when people flirt with employees on the job (especially if you're the one being flirted with), but when employees do the flirting suddenly they're creepy people who should be fired and whatnot.
