Let's just assume this is a male who's led a very successful breeding life in captivity and he's singlehandedly brought the orangutan population up 100 babies. He's been raised in this zoo since birth, and he's always been destined to be turned into food once he reaches the end of his life.

He recently broke his arms and cannot climb or eat anymore, so the only option is to take him out of his misery in as painless a way as possible. They could go and bury him somewhere, but they could also go and use his body for science and give you the meat to eat. Would you accept this?

If you don't want to eat the orangutan, it'll still be used as a cadaver for scientists OR be laid peacefully to rest in a nice grave somewhere. So there's no pressure that you have to eat him or he ends up in the trash somewhere.
