Unless the body was riddled with bullets. The "Arm for the arm/leg to slow him down!" thing is a myth from hollywood. A shot to the leg can still kill you, it can also have virtually no effect at all and most importantly, gives you a HUGE likelihood of missing and hitting an innocent passerby. Gun safety 101, if you're shooting a human being, aim for the chest and shot to kill.
