They're both shitty, however talking to someone (in contrast to deplatforming) doesn't automatically mean you endorse everything they've ever done. Both the right and left have parts that are extremely cringey, again one of the main reasons I identity as a centrist, dirty dirty centrist, because I'd rather not shove myself into one side or another that both have insane views and pick the best from both. The problem with centrism is that if you don't stand against the crappy views, then you passively allow it to exist and grow. But centrists stand against the crappy views of both sides by nature of their position.
