Topic	I actually need a root canal.

From what I understand, it depends on the tooth. My root canal was on a molar, which is important for chewing food. The process of a root canal weakens the tooth, so the crown is there so the tooth doesn't fracture (and so it looks like a regular tooth). The teeth up front aren't really used for chewing, so you might be able to get away without a crown. Yeah I plan to get it next year but I have had a root canal for 5 years.
