You're not seeing much visible results despite putting on weight cause that workout is a beginner routine designed to help you master form while gaining strength, not getting swole. If you want to get bigger then ditch the routine and train for hypertrophy, not to maximize beginner gains.

Abbreviated training works great and "beginner" routines don't really exist. Beginner loads do. All he needs to do is tack on some more hypertrophy-centric movements after the big lifts.
