To be fair he has a point. Most games have auto-saves and are aware of gamebreaking bugs. Skyrim has like 5 different auto-saves at once and that was last gen. Breath of the Wild has 10 different auto-saves IIRC The problem was his friend started a Master Mode game which starts a whole new set of saves. Which gave him the impression his saves were deleted.
