Most mainstream modern country songs' lyrics sound like they were written by a committee of writers who just made a list of what southern people like or do and wrote songs about them.

Then there's the music itself, which sounds sterile and cliche with a pop style production. You'll hear country songs with rap-like beats in them. There's nothing wrong with crossing genres, but not when it sounds like it was created in a lab by hacks and record company executives..
