You can boil down any genre to its tropes and stereotypes. This. Blanket statements are worthless. I don't see why you'd agree with such a dumb knee jerk comment. Musical styles are studied and categorized, mostly based on the content of the music and common formulas in the music, not stereotypes. In fact "noise" is categorized versus music. It makes me wonder how much effort people put into searching for stuff they like in the genre, if any.
