What do you mean by "manually entered the IP address I found after going through command prompt"

Entered cmd on the start menu, and once once I was prompted to give a command entered ipconfig to get my IP address.

If you put the same number you saw there in the switch, that may be part of the problem. Each device should have a unique IP address.

For example:

If you did ipconfig and saw:

IP: 192.168.0.50
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

Then try putting 192.168.0.75 as the IP in the switch and the same subnet mask and default gateway as you saw in command prompt.

Yeah, at first I did that, but remembered reading that the IP would be slightly different. Nintendo said to add 20, and I did, but unfortunately it still didn't work.
