I was looking more for something thats hack-and-slash or open world with plenty of offline content and interesting lore. And where the gameplay itself is fun and feels rewarding.

I'm really casual when it comes to video games, and so I wanted to start off trying something with a decent amount of difficulty to get me used to it.

If actual world history counts as lore, then Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition. 82 playable characters (each having their own unique moveset), two unlockable weapons for each character, 5 story modes with a historical and hypothetical route in each, some extra non-canon stages, 5 "Challenge" stages, a mode dedicated to conquering territory...this is a game that can keep one occupied, to say the least.
