Topic	Why is being vegetarian a thing?

I just recognize the economic value and health benefits of a less meat-heavy diet, although I do eat a fair amount of meat at my parent's home. Yes, people annoyed the shit out of my during my time in the food industry (all positions from dishwasher to managing pizza bar and ramen bar chef/manager).
