Its this noisy mess thats all over the place, while still maintaining my interest with all sorts of angular ideas. Im more of a Deceit fan myself, and find this album to have some slightly overwhelming moments in comparison, but I cant deny the entertainment value I get from the dark atmosphere 8/10 A mood album. Portions of it match the sheer breahtaking soul of Talk Talks best work and the pure intimacy of the arrangements make it a soothing listen. The problem is there isnt really a huge standout moment and it takes a while to grow on you, but as a full listen on a Sunday morning, its hard to do better. 9/10 Hums best work. Im a sucker for a good riff, and this album is full of those. In a way, it feels like the logical conclusion of 90s rock to me, a mature melding of shoegaze, grunge, and all sorts of good stuff.
