But, seriously, what the fuck is his appeal? I admit, I only started watching in '99, so maybe I missed out. But he has consistently bored the shit out of me while everyone else goes apeshit everytime he shows back up. Undertaker is just one of those timeless guys that has a unique gimmick and a mystique around his character, and he has always been loyal to WWE. Throughout the Monday Night Wars, when guys were jumping between WWE, WCW, and ECW was extremely common, Undertaker was the one guy WWE had that stayed 100% loyal and never even thought about leaving. He was a mainstay on WWE programming for 20 years, and even after becoming a part-timer at the end of his career, he still gave it his all whenever he was needed. His character, the backstory behind it (with Paul Bearer and Kane involved as well), his awe-inspiring entrance, and his incredible undefeated streak at Wrestlemania are all iconic parts of WWE history and of a legacy almost 30 years in the making.
