Again, you place a lot of faith in the ability of a burglar to act rationally when they are in the process of doing something completely irrational. These are not master criminals, they are low level thugs, often on drugs, prone to panicking. The term burglarly/robbery-gone-wrong exists for a reason.

even if they aren't when they start, they can change their minds when caught, or attack out of fear from being caught. even if they don't intend on killing, they can still intend on harming you


Also, why is the life of someone who is willfully putting my property and family at risk worth more than my property and family?
