Americans are the only ones who seem to not understand that India is indeed in Asia. Contrary to popular belief Asia is NOT just China and Japan. Pretty much. I live in an area where Punjabi Indians are the second biggest demographic after white people and there are many times "South Asian" comes up as a descriptor. Nobody is bothered. What's amusing is that the American census considers Indians as Asians as well afaik.
