I hear yanny, but having heard the pitch-shifted version to know where the L sounds exist timing-wise, I can hear them if I listen very intently for them.

Your last statement makes no sense whatsoever. Do you really think that everyone hears all frequencies equally? Of course that's a load of rubbish.
