TopicSo why is not mildly inconveniencing gun owners such a high priority?

Not *always*, but most shootings that occur involve someone who illegally obtained a gun, not sure what good "regulations" are if people are going to steal guns or if some sales don't follow the rules. The only thing I can think of is extreme penalties (like... not just fines, but significant jail time, etc) for shop owners that don't follow procedure or people who aren't properly maintaining and storing their guns so they can be stolen. I have some friends that always have everything nicely locked up, and others that just have guns lying around and a rifle propped up in a corner, etc. >_>
