Topic	So why is not mildly inconveniencing gun owners such a high priority?

Gun control is a war on liberty preying on people's irrational fears. Yeah daily mass shootings directly caused by weapon availability = irrational fear. Only developed country where this happens = irrational fear. Making idiotic excuses while allowing shootings to happen to innocents is downright evil and selfish and we see it daily. In 2016 there were 374 homicides using a rifle (not just scary black ones, all rifles). Well round this up to 400 scary black rifle homicides including adults and children. There are roughly 5,700,00 public school children. That's well under a .00007% chance of being impacted. Yes if this is your fear it is most certainly irrational. Whoops 50,700,000 school children.
