Topic	Worst JRPG of all time: Xenogears vs Chrono Cross

It doesn't even deserve to be a sequel to Radical Dreamers. Ironically enough, most of the times I see "sequel" and "Chrono Cross" in the same message it's from people whining about how it's not up to par with Chrono Trigger. Meanwhile the people who like Chrono Cross for what it is just end up saying that it's a good game. Chrono Cross is a fair to good JRPG, but it is a terrible sequel to one of the best games in the SNES library. Taken on its own merits alone, Cross is pretty good (although the fact that the character roster is extremely wide and shallow detracts from it imo). The problem is when held up to Trigger it is inferior in every possible way. However, not being as good a Chronotrigger is something ALMOST ALL JRPGS are guilty of. Not fair to damn Cross on that metric. Being worse than a 10/10 isn't the end of the world. I'd rate Cross a 7/10 (meaning well above average) for both its story and its creativity. --- Watch me stream! On every day usually around 6 PM EST.
