While I agree $30 is alot, and I'm getting really tired of Early Access as well, times are changing and people making games are going to have to change with it.

The problem is sales.....they happen......it's not even a question now, and game makers are going to start planning for them in advance.

Want to sell your game for $15?......well, if you start it at $15.....most people are going to wait till at least a 50% off sale at this point, because they figure it'll happen in 6 months or so, and they have a huge backlog of games (because almost everyone does).

Solution? Start selling the game in "early access" for $30, before you normally would have even started making any money on it...and then put it on "sale" during the first winter/summer etc sale (or just a weekly sale even), for 50% off.

Now you end up getting all the people who would have bought the game originally for $15, and a ton of people who look for discounts or good deals to buy games (even if they won't play it right away) as well.

It's not just players that change with the times and start waiting for sales before buying. People making games see that happening (And some are even players as well), and plan for it.

$30.....is too much, at least in my opinion, but....they already have people actually paying that much for it....AND they will for sure sell it at a discount. What is more, they can do the whole 50% during the first big sale...and then later do a 66% sale (even more likely for people to pick it up).

A 66% sale though is actually only a 33% discount off the original $15 they wanted.....but looks FAR more impressive, and gets the game just under $10. They would get a ton of people to pick it up at that point especially if the game is good, with the only main negative reviews being about the price.

It's basically what safeway does as well, jacks up the prices so the sales look more impressive.
