Don't worry about starving yourself, just eat something with less calories and better nutrients. There's plenty of ways to eat a good, filling meal with less than 600 calories. A lot of fast food won't fill you up until you've eaten 1000 calories worth. For example, eat 3 McChickens from McDonald's and you're already up around 1000. A patty melt from Whataburger (this is only a thing in the south I think) is around 1000 calories. So don't just watch your calories; eat filling meals that are healthier. You'll probably end up cutting your calories while eating the same amount of food.

Gotta say, when I went from 215 to 185 I ate just as much if not more fast food during that period then any other period of my life.

I had fast food about 3 or 4 times a week for meals. My gotos were a #1 from Wendys, chicken strips at Chick-fil-A, or the homestyle chicken sandwich at McDonalds. Sometimes on the weekend I would eat hoagies (from a place that makes them giant), other fried chicken sandwiches from local shops and possibly pizza. I would get salads as the side sometimes sure, but I still ate those foods and lost weight. Oh and no I did not cut the soda. I ate the same food as ever, just less of it.

It was actually when I started to add the gym to my diet is when I no longer lost weight, rather I gained strength and muscle.
