Mewtwo wins regardless, Sonic just might have made it respectable if Bowser hadn't been there. Think we saw a similar thing with Red's strong performance against Samus and Mega Man in one of the semifinals, although the pokemon bandwagon was going strong by then too. And we did get to see post-reboot Lara in 2013.
