The average person does not yield a perfectly neutral input from me, more like a 3-4 for the average person. So I always ask which scale people use, and it confuses them so I have to clarify what I mean. Not just for looks, but any rating system on any subject... It's better to cram all the low tiers into the fewest numbers possible, that way you have more magnification on the top tier best stuff that matters.
