That functionally makes them very different to play, but there are a lot of overlapping basic concepts there. Some of that is necessity because of the weapons they use, art style they have, and game they're from but minimizing similarities where you can should be a priority. Like there is no reason Ike should have a charge B and a counter. That doesn't mean that's the entirety of what makes him feel similar, but every victory helps --- No problem!
