Start with C++ if you want. Loads of people have done that and turned out just fine. It can be rough for a while depending on what kind of person you are, like what piques your interest. If you want to see a moving object on the screen really quickly, C++ will be tedious. If you just want to learn more about algorithms and data structures, C++ can be great. If you're actually into stuff like manual memory management and being somewhat close to the hardware, C and C++ are right up your alley. It's not outdated in any way, and to imply that Rust is a perfect replacement is a laughable farce.
