If you actually follow the Tech / Computer Industry, there's a new Improvement in Screen Power tech from Intel that dramatically cuts power consumption from a LCD panel. (2-3w -> 1w) power consumption for a 1080p / 1440p panel. That is a dramatic power savings, and considering the Panel is the largest power draw of most devices, it'll be worth it for Nintendo to pay whatever patent royalties it is to get access to that tech.
