Even there I can't really see a huge change since it will still need to have the Joycons click into it. It will time with the next Pokmon game too. There's only so much mobile hardware can do. Even if they released a new model with new specs every single year they wouldn't get all of the AAA ports. They're designed for home hardware. If you actually follow the Tech / Computer Industry, there's a new Improvement in Screen Power tech from Intel that dramatically cuts power consumption from a LCD panel. (2-3w -> 1w) power consumption for a 1080p / 1440p panel. That is a dramatic power savings, and considering the Panel is the largest power draw of most devices, it'll be worth it for Nintendo to pay whatever patent royalties it is to get access to that tech.
