I've heard the live betting theory before and I don't think it's that far out there. Another one is that he sells the videos to people who get off on torture porn. People who sign up know exactly what they're getting into but even with waivers it's a legal gray area. Serious criminal offenses can't be excused just because the victim signed a waiver.
