It's just I find it hard to believe that there's hardly a passing mention of the revolutionary war in history class. It doesn't have to be long or a major part, but come on..."oh by the way we fought a war against America, but there's really nothing important or interesting about that". That's pretty odd. It should be as relevant in British history as the Korean War is to American history.

Why should it be important?

America is far from the only only place that rebelled and/or Britain gave up on. And even at the time, was far more important things occurring at our doorstep that had greater impact.
