I think it is an interesting concept. But I think in practice it would have the opposite effect of what right wingers want. Most Americans can't pass a citizenship test while most immigrants do. It would also mean children would need to work to become citizens and if the child is handicapped that could cause issues. Or if a student is home schooled or goes to a poor school they may not be learning all the right stuff. So many poor and disabled people would be left without a country. And schools in general would be a toss up on if the kids can even go.


Or, more likely, you become an automatic citizen if both (or at least one) of the parents is a citizen.

Doubtful they'd attempt to test every single person in the country. That seems like a logistical nightmare.
