I stroked my neck's beard. The butterfly IV withdrew a deep crimson, filling a test tube. Centrifuging my blood, my vitae, would test for adult-onset diabetes, for which they will say my Doritos lust is the cause. The nurse placed the red vials in their slots on the circle. With a twinkle in my eye and a loose thread on my fedora, I asked of the nurse,

"Quick, what's this centrifuge's revolutions per minute?"

She said she didn't know. A grin curved along my face.

"I was just wondering. I can see how fast it goes with some simple angular velocity equations. Centripetal force given the mass of my blood and the tube and all that. But you wouldn't know that, would you? I bet you couldn't even tell me what the acceleration due to gravity is, could you?"

A tear blinked out of her eye.

"Nine point eight one meters per second squared."
