Also, for most of CA $15 an hour isn't a living wage.

When the cheapest 1 bedroom you can get is over $1500 a month, $15 an hour isn't enough to pay your basic bills, let alone eat, pay transportation costs or have any money left over.

I mean, if they changed it so you didn't pay taxes on the first $2000 a month you make, it might be different, but as is? It's not just CA that $15 isn't enough now.....even where I live (Olympia) is hitting over $1k for a 1 bedroom now. We have $11 an hour min wage, so less then $400 a week for most min wage jobs. After taxes you barely have enough to pay for rent + utilities. Since the min wage also happened to jump $2 recently, you have TONS of jobs that are paying $11-$12 at this point, which were 30% over min wage before.
