The first game involves him being found by Triss and a few other Witchers & he has amnesia. There is a plot to wipe out the Witchers, and Geralt has to stop the bad guys. At the end of the first game, Geralt stops an assassination attempt against King Foltest of Temeria-- and this leads directly to the beginning of Witcher 2.
